So even though I have my Linux blog TheWired dot INFO, I wanted an excuse to gush on my main blog about Slackware, the best Linux distro.
I've been using Slackware as my daily driver for god knows how long. I think I got into using it as my main distro in high school.
I know, sounds crazy, but yeah, I skipped Gentoo and the damn "I use Arch, BTW" era and went right to Slackware. Now some readers might be wondering why the hell I would use Slackware. Well, to that I say it's simple: I can pick what is or isn't in my machine.
Slackware was first released 17 July 1993 by Subgenii Patrick Volkerding, who started Slackware as a fork of Softlanding Linux System by Peter MacDonald.
Now I'm sure some readers might not understand why I would go with Slackware rather than, say, Debian or Ubuntu. Well, that mostly comes down to the fact that I have a strong belief I should know what's running.
A major bonus also comes in the fact that not only is Slackware adding xLibre, the fork of X11, but Volkerding himself has promised he would not add age gates or ID checks to Slackware.

I am sure some people might be wondering "How do I install Slackware?" Well, that's honestly pretty simple when you get down to it.
Before you get the main Slackware distro, you may want to try a fork of Slackware first.
The easiest one to install for newcomers would be something like Zenwalk or Slax. Now, if you go with Slax, remember to select the Slackware version and not the Debian one. I've had a few people I recommended Slax to install the wrong one.
If you wanna follow me talking about Slackware and more Linux/techie stuff, check out TheWired dot INFO, my Linux blog. Now if you'll excuse me, I've gotta go write some more nerd content for LOKZ.NET.
