“No, I refuse to accept the ugliness of this world. In the world I see, my eyes are clear, and they see nothing but beauty…And robots. Beauty, and robots.” - Dr. Steel [“Crazy” Interview featured on “Building A Utopian Playland”]
Funny, seems we've got another time that I had an article in the pipeline and then I had to rewrite it due to illwillpress having a video on a similar topic, anyone who's read my article on TheWired dot INFO back on 2026-08-17 "Foamy Was Right About Smart Homes [Rant]" knows I am a fan of the Neurotically Yours franchise.
While I will admit some of his points of view made sense like "The digital obsession with proving you moved your body" as someone who actively doesn't like the idea of becoming skinnier than I already am I hate how my fitness tracker oftentimes will say "You are sedentary" and I am left here thinking "No shit, Sherlock" I don't wanna get skinnier or fitter.
I like my body, I wasted decades being something others wanted rather than having joy in my own skin so the only reason I use this kind of tracker is so I can make sure I am taking in more than I am burning.
We are so damn obsessed with this idea of being skinny, and if you wanna be some twig, fine, if you might die okay fine care about your body but myself being larger actually lowered my stress and blood pressure since I wasn't worrying about what others wanted out of my body.
Now let's move on to the biggest thing I hate about Diet Cult-ure, I have had so many friends or so-called friends try to push onto me Ozempic or other weight loss drugs assuming that I wanted it, assuming I am gaining weight due to a breakup or something when in reality it was just me having the choice to just be happy [don't ruin this for me]
Just because you decided to get jacked or lose weight, that's on you but as I quoted above "my eyes are clear, and they see nothing but beauty"
At some point I feel the whole Diet Cult-ure is a cult and that falls into the BITE Model, I mean it fits three out of the five questions at points.
No Critical Thinking? (Asking hard questions or expressing doubt is punished or labeled as evil.)
Yup that counts, have you ever tried to talk to someone who's obsessed with these GLP-1 drugs? Or wants you to try their new diet? And if you say no they just ignore you and refuse to have any other points of view shown to them.
I'm sorry, I'm not interested in a diet that focuses on meat where the creator died a vegetable [Atkins] or in taking a drug that has the side effect of blindness [Ozempic]
Strict Control? (The group dictates your daily life, including how you dress, what you eat, spend money, or what media you consume.)
Oh big time, most diets are more strict in their dietary rules than some actual religious cults to an extreme level.
Isolation? (Members are encouraged or forced to cut ties with old friends and family outside the group.)
Oh big time, there have been so many times I've had someone get really pissed off just because I told them kindly at first and then later firmly that I didn't want to discuss diets, I was happy for them but I don't want to change who I am.
I can't be the only person who thinks like this, add your comments on the fediverse, either way, my dinner finished since I heard my air fryer beep at me so until next time this is LOKZ and I don't have a closing line.
Maybe "End of Line"? Nah that doesn't feel right either.
